2023 Polls: APC Plotting To Alter Results In Katsina, Kaduna, Kano, Zamfara, Others, PDP Alleges

The main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has claimed that Governors Aminu Bello Masari, Nasir el-Rufai, Abdullahi Ganduje, and Bello Matawalle of Katsina, Kaduna, Kano, and Zamfara states, respectively, were putting pressure on INEC officials to change results in favor of the APC. According to The Guardian, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, claimed in a statement on Sunday night that the APC governors were blackmailing INEC officials to manipulate the results and transfer massive votes cast for the PDP and Atiku to the APC and Tinubu.

He articulated that this nefarious scheme by APC governors was responsible for stalling election results collation in Katsina, Kano, Kaduna, Zamfara, and other APC states, where Tinubu is alleged to have released over N11 billion per state to rig the election in his favor. This is also responsible for the unexplained delay in the transmission of election results from the said states to the INEC server and the commencement of the formal announcement of results by the INEC Chairman.

Meanwhile, as reported earlier, the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) National Collation Centre has been adjourned until tomorrow, Monday, February 27, 2023, at 11 a.m. Remember that the Centre formally opened at abo1 pm1pm on Sunday and took a 30-minute break before reconvening at 6 p.m. because no presidential election results from the 36 Federation States and the FCT were available.
