The National Commissioner of Voter Education and Publicity Of The Independent National Electoral Commission, Festus Okoye, has assured Nigerians that the INEC Chairman will give an explanation concerning what delayed the upload of results as the commission had promised.
Speaking further, Festus Okoye disclosed that results will be cancelled in any polling unit where voters had voted without being accredited with the BVAS. Festus Okoye went on to say that the Electoral Act states that voters must go through accreditation before being allowed to vote.
Remember that not long ago, it was reported that there was a unit where about 50 voters voted in the election without going through the accreditation process. Festus Okoye revealed that over voting will occur wherever there is a discrepancy in the number of accredited voters and the number of people that voted
Festus Okoye said that if unaccredited voters votes at a polling unit, the number of accredited voters will not rhyme with the number of those that voted and as such, the Electoral Act demands that a y result gotten from such a polling unit must be cancelled.
