RIP| Here is a pic of a female officer who was killed while attending an accident scene

WHEN ORDINARY MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY see police or other law enforcement officials being killed, they lose faith.

They are curious about what it is about us that makes them feel unsafe.

Vusi Shongwe, the Member of the Provincial Executive Council for Community Safety in the province of Mpumalanga, made these remarks to the family of murdered police Sergeant Bafedi Diphofa (32), who was killed while responding to an accident scene in Emalahleni on Friday, March 24. Bafedi Diphofa was killed in the line of duty. ALSO READ: Another day in the investigation into the death of infant Bokgabo

Diphofa served her time as a police officer at Vosman Station.

According to various reports, Diphofa was reportedly shot at the scene of the accident by the driver of a vehicle that had been involved in the collision.

According to the allegations, the suspect started fire, and Diphofa was struck by one of the bullets. During the response by the authorities, the suspect was also shot and killed.

A member of the family disclosed that they were distressed but have learned to make peace with the circumstances. She pleaded with the citizens of Kasi to show the authorities the proper amount of respect and collaborate with them in order to make Kasi a safer place.

According to Shongwe, anyone who attacks the police is also attacking the state because the police are one of the state’s arms and are responsible for maintaining law and order while also safeguarding residents.

He emphasised the importance of self-defense for law enforcement officers when dealing with potentially violent offenders.

“I have grown weary of making the trip to Witbank to visit the families of law enforcement officials who have been murdered by criminals.

“In order for the police to protect themselves, they need to make use of the resources that the state has given them,” said Shongwe. The Independent Police Investigative Directorate is continuing its investigation into the occurrence at this time. (Ipid
