Watch: Warm Welcome For Freed EFF Members Who Got Arrested On Monday

There was jubilation after Economic Freedom Fighters members who were arrested on national shutdown were released from police cells.

Police arrested them under the pretext that they were causing violence, but the EFF maintained that their members were wrongfully arrested for simply exercising their constitutional rights of protest.

Julius Malema, the Economic Freedom Fighters leader said the EFF national shutdown was peaceful and that his members were disciplined. He said that the narrative of EFF wanting to cause violence as some had anticipated, did not materialise.

Mbuyiseni Ndlozi the EFF member of parliament shared the video of EFF members who were arrested on national shutdown being warmly welcomed by their fellow ground forces.

“Warm welcome to the arrested fighters in sub-region G, Orange Farm, Johannesburg,” said Mbuyiseni Ndlozi.

The EFF revealed that almost all the members who were arrested on Monday were released today, except for two who will be appearing in court tomorrow and also expected to be out after they have made appearance in court.

The EFF Gauteng provincial secretary Moshe Koma was at the Brixton Magistrate Court, where 21 fighters and community members arrested for peaceful demonstration during the national shutdown were released on bail
