A lot of people have been arrested for causing trouble following the National shutdown. According to reports, the Economic Freedom Fighters National shutdown which started from midnight on March 20th until midnight on March 21st led to many unreported arrest.
According to official SAPS report, the police arrested more than 550 protestors for different reasons like public violence, intimidation, damaging important buildings, stealing, and trying to loot. This is a lot of people and it caused a big problem for the police.
In reaction to this arrests, the Economic Freedom Fighters in Gauteng are upset and plan to protest outside police stations and courts. This time they will be protesting for the release of the arrested protesters.. Although the protest was supposed to be peaceful, some people got hurt in different parts of the country.
