Here Is What Happened To A Man Who Threatened To Commit Suicide From Sunnyside Police Station Roof

On Tuesday, March 21, a guy made a threatening gesture toward the Sunnyside police station’s rooftop.

Leyds Street was blocked off by many SAPS cars, and a City of Tshwane fire engine was sent to the area.

The individual can be seen standing on the rooftop of the police station in a video that was posted on social media.

In a another video, a negotiator can be seen talking to the man while standing on the fire truck’s ladder.

Thabo Mabaso of Tshwane Emergency Services reportedly told IOL that they were called to the scene on Tuesday about noon.

We put a fire engine and a ladder company on standby after discovering a man threatening to commit himself on the rooftop of the Sunnyside police station. We turned over the area to the police shortly after 1pm,” Mabaso was cited as saying in the report.

Mabaso claimed that they remained on the spot until police arrived to rescue the man.

Different perspectives on the occurrence were provided by locals who were on the site.

The police station is useless, according to some locals, and perhaps the man is sick of hearing that.

“The station is broken already, and I believe he is there to draw attention to the situation. It doesn’t matter if Sunnyside police station is open or shut, one bystander was cited by IOL as saying.
