There was reportedly some drama and confusion in the South African Parliament after Deputy President Paul Mashatile was swiftly evacuated out. Mashatile and other government officials were reportedly escorted out of parliament by parliament security personnel as they investigated reports of a fire on the first floor of the Good Hope building.
The good news is that no one was hurt; according to reports, Parliament security personnel soon determined the fire was caused by a faulty light bulb, and according to other reports, the incident began when a light bulb exploded in an office in the Good Hope building.
