The Kogi State Government has reiterated its position on the complaint it has filed with its partners, Zamfara and Kaduna, against the Federal Government and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) over the policy do not use cash.

“I have approved CBN to put the old N200 banknotes back into circulation and also be allowed to circulate as legal tender along with the new N200, N500 and N1000 banknotes for 60 days from February 10, 2023 to April 10, 2023,” said Buhari.

But in response, in an interview with TVC on Thursday, Kogi’s Information Commissioner, Kingsley Fanwo, said they were looking into the situation. “We have all listened to what the President said today. We are looking at the situation. There is no clear course of action yet. As we well know, the case is being brought before the Court. Supreme Court and will resume the trial on February 22.

“We are very confident that the Supreme Court will pursue the case and whatever decision is made, we are confident that we have a president who follows the line of constitutionalism and believes in the rule of law. permission.”

He added; “We are not going to get over the case that we brought before the Supreme Court. This process is still ongoing and has been postponed until February 22.

On February 22, we expect that the Supreme Court will make a decision or maybe set a date for a ruling. So we (Kogi State Government) will wait for the Supreme Court’s decision.
