Tinubu, Shetima, APC Governors Visit Wike
The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Aspirant, Bola Tinubu, and His deputy, Kashim Shettima paid a visit to Governor Nyesom Wike on Wednesday at the government house in Port Harcourt, the state capital of Rivers.
APC National Chairman Abdullahi Adamu, as well as Governors Abubakar Bagudu (Kebbi), Babjide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), and Dave Umahi accompanied the party’s nominee and his running mate.
Governors of Ekiti, Kayode Fayemi, Adams Oshiomhole, and Timipre Sylva, the minister of state for petroleum resources, were present at the meeting.
Rotimi Amaechi, a former minister of transportation and governor of the Rivers, notably skipped the conference.
Tonye Cole, the APC candidate for governor in Rivers, was also absent from the meeting.
The Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) G5 member Wike and Atiku Abubakar, who is the party’s presidential candidate, do not get along.
The G5 is composed of five PDP governors who are dissatisfied, including Wike, Samuel Ortom (Benue), Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi(Enugu).
The five governors have consistently demanded Iyorchia Ayu resign from his position as PDP national chairman before they will back Atiku’s bid for the presidency.
