Corp Member Who Is An INEC Ad-hoc Staff Called Out For Declaring Her Support For Peter Obi
Nigerians have called for the sanction of an INEC ad-hoc officer who publicly declared her support for the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
The Nigerian 2023 general election was held on Saturday, the 25th of February, and a lot of Nigerians were out to vote for their preferred candidates in their various polling units.
As it has always been in every Nigerian election, some corps member are always made to work with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as ad-hoc staff.
One of the corps members who was an INEC ad-hoc staff took to her Twitter page to declare her support for the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
In a now-deleted tweet, the INEC ad-hoc staff identified as Chidinma Okorie said that she didn’t sleep all night as she was attending her duties as a presiding officer.
She added that the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, must win the election.
“If stress was a person. I didn’t sleep all night. Presiding officer. Peter Obi must win. Please, it’s just the logo on the ballot paper, not LP,” she tweeted.
After she made the tweet, she was called out for publicly declaring her support for the Labour Party when she was supposed to be neutral as an INEC ad-hoc staff.
The Special Assistant on Digital Communications to President Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad, also reacted to this, saying that the issue has been reported.
